What is the Pupil Premium Grant?
The Pupil Premium Grant provides funding for two purposes;
- raising the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities to reach their potential
- supporting children and young people with parents in the regular armed forces
The Pupil Premium Grant is allocated according to the number of pupils on-roll who are eligible for free school meals (FSM) or have been eligible within the past 6 years (Ever 6), have been adopted and any pupil who has been ‘Looked After’ (in care) for 6 months or more. A smaller amount is allocated for children of service families.
Our Pupil Premium strategy is based on what we know is best for our pupils. Every pupil matters regardless of vulnerability, background or starting point and are all afforded the opportunity to learn, grow, participate and succeed. Our curriculum is coherently planned to meet the unique & differing needs of all our learners; academically and personally. Through well-planned targeted support, we aim to diminish gaps in attainment to ensure that disadvantage does not impact on pupil achievement; we want all our pupils to succeed. We strive to ensure our pupils are equipped with the necessary knowledge and provided with opportunities to enhance their skills to progress in all aspects of school life. Through promoting emotional well-being and positive attendance, we ensure equality of opportunity for all our pupils. Commitment to our pupils is fulfilled through our high aspiration, passion and drive to ensure all our pupils participate in varied rich learning experiences within the school community and beyond through trips, visits and first hand experiences.
Our ultimate objectives are:
To provide a high level of care, through the One Family Approach, ensuring our families are in receipt of swift informal and formal support.
To continue to narrow the attainment gap between disadvantaged and all pupils.
For disadvantaged pupils to make or exceed nationally expected levels.
To improve attendance of disadvantaged pupils so that it is at least in line with all pupils nationally.
To provide aspirations and awareness of all children by promoting opportunities within and beyond the local community
T provide targeted pastoral care to support children’s emotional health and well being to ensure they can access our whole school curriculum.

What is the Sports Premium Grant?
The PE and sport premium is a predetermined amount which the government has agreed to allocate every school. The funding is used to help provide additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils.
As a school we continue to invest the funding to encourage and develop participation in a range of physical activities and sports so that children benefit from increased levels of well-being and adopt healthier lifestyles as a life-long choice. By continuing to do so, it is hoped that all children across the school will develop a love of sport and physical activity, no matter of their entry-level.
Inter-school competition also develops a sense of pride and personal achievement as individuals and team members. Additional benefits of continued investment ensure the children have an understanding of fair play, team working and a positive attitude towards one another in all sports-related endeavours.
At Lincoln Gardens Primary School we made the decision to employ the services of a qualified teacher as Sports Leader. While this is not funded through sports premium monies, we continue to ensure this is a priority in delivering sustainable outcomes in all areas provided for, by continuing to maximise the effect of investment of sports premium funding.
